Albuquerque New Mexico's Famous Balloon Fiesta

My eyes were craving more sleep when the alarm beeped its annoying harsh blasts. Looking at the digital clock it was 5 AM. I slowly got out of bed and looked out the window and was amazed at the line of cars heading towards Albuquerque's Balloon Fiesta Park.

In a few short hours, our group would be heading to the airport booking passage home. Back to Lancaster County PA. First though was our last photo activity from this Southwest adventure - Balloon Fiesta as viewed from our hotel parking lot.

(And here you thought that the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad was the last adventure. Surprise!)

The four of us met in the hotel's dining room for a hearty breakfast and planned out our morning photo session. The excitement rose within me as we grabbed our cameras. Another sweet photo adventure was underway.

We were not alone as we ventured outside in the chilly morning air. My friend Heather found a place inside the hotel. Don, Doug, and I set up our gear and waited for the exciting balloon launch to begin.

Like the rest of the places we were blessed to photograph, I couldn't believe that I was capturing Albuquerque New Mexico's Balloon Fiesta! Before this trip, the closest I ever got to this event was viewing the amazing photographs in the various photo magazines I read.

Finally, one by one the hot air balloons were raised up into the sky above. To our disappointment though, the hot air balloons were not passing us overhead, they were traveling in a North-South direction. Darn wind!

I captured several images of the launch and chose this image as my favorite.

(Such amazing memories were made via this southwestern journey. I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!)

My wish for you is that you are blessed to travel the world around you with your family and friends. This time we spent with each other was incredible.

Happy (Belated) Valentine's Day!

Thanks and Blessings,
